Michael Copeland founded Rock Costa Rica after falling in love with the Lake Arenal area and moving there from Northern California’s Bay Area. He developed a deep affection and respect for the Tico people and for the Costa Rican philosophy of pura vida (“the pure life”) – a philosophy characterized by strong community spirit, perseverance, resilience in overcoming difficulties, enjoying life slowly and celebrating good fortune.

hey this place is really terrific for a lot of reasons. We stayed there for close to 2 weeks and it was one of the most worry free getaways I've ever had. truly relaxing, with the birds, the butterflies, the monkeys, even a sloth. Some mornings I would be sitting out and literally hundreds of things were airborne at once, hummingbirds, butterflies, other birds and insects, flying from flower to flower, making for continuous and dramatic and entertaining scenery! the volcano is in a quiet phase, but if it is active, would have been amazing viepoint for that too. more later... PURO VIDA!
