Michael Copeland founded Rock Costa Rica after falling in love with the Lake Arenal area and moving there from Northern California’s Bay Area. He developed a deep affection and respect for the Tico people and for the Costa Rican philosophy of pura vida (“the pure life”) – a philosophy characterized by strong community spirit, perseverance, resilience in overcoming difficulties, enjoying life slowly and celebrating good fortune.
Some artist friends and I recently rented 10 nights at Michael Copeland's guest house and it was so awesome. It is beautifully located, lake-front with great views of Volcano Arenal. There was so much to see and do and we just scratched the surface! The guest house at Rock Costa Rica is very comfortable and proved to be a great home base for the activities in the area. We especially enjoyed the Eco Zoo, Sky Trek Sky Tram (zipline) and the horseback tour to Finca Artesana which is a very unique Pre-Columbian sustainable garden up in the primary rain forest. My friends and I also enjoyed the down time--just hanging out. I highly recommend it!
